Apparently(from a yahoo search) its not illegal to own or consume Absinthe in the US. It however can't be sold in bars or distilled in the states.

You can get it online. I *know someone* who got it shipped in from Europe with no problem. If you want the real stuff with the woodworm, you can get it.

You can have my share.
I travel quite a bit and all my friends always want bottles of it.
I really think the only reason its popular at all is from tourists that want it for the sole reason they cannot buy it here stateside.
All across Europe there are 500 different makers and they all taste like crap.
I have had both cheapo bottles and top shelf alike decanted through sugar cubes and the whole nine yards........Its crap in my book.
Prices range from 6 euro a bottle up to 300 euro a bottle and it isnt much different. The wormwood is best described to someone that has never tried it as an herbal effect similar to ginsing in a energy drink.
It does NOT cause halucination nor does it change your world. It just is a tiny smidge different than soda with a funny but distinct aftertaste.
JMO but save your money.

i beg to differ RFB... im not sayin it will change your world, but it isnt like a gensing, taurine and caffinated infused soda...

to each thier own. I re-read my post and it does sound negative so I should soften it perhaps.
Its worth a try for those that have never had it but certainly nothing to be exited about.
Personal taste I guess, Maybe I am just sick of it who knows.
