acceptable plants in a seahorse tank

Ive been researching plants to keep in the DT.
as well as the sump.
I have decided on cheato in the sump, this should encourage copepod growth and well as keep the tank in a lower nitrate condition.
I am confused about the DT. I have heard many things about caluerpa(sp)? Some people complain that it grows to fast. so love it.
Looking around. which plants would provide a hitch?
also i hear that green caluerpa grows really fast. almost uncontrollable. Is this my only option?
I have looked into red grape caluerpa, which supposedly grows slower, but what else can i get.
I am looking for color, red, green, any others to be useful, without overgrowing the tank too much, and hopefully wont require pruning every week.
also something in the middle of the tank where i would be able to throw some food in there as opposed to a feeding dish?
options?
what would work, or not?
TIA

Any macros will work, just be aware that they need regular pruning or they can go sexual, meaning they will release everything they have collected into your tank.
I have photo georgians in my tank, they make great hitches. I also have a little caluerpa. There are several seagrasses that are also nice. I would love to add some to my tank

regular pruning meaning what? every week? or every month?
which caluerpa do you have? the red kind?
or green? im kinda scared of the green.
which seagrasses are nice? and where would i find them?
agar? fern grass? maidens hair? any other kinds that would be great?
plants/ macros are the last thing to complete this project.
other than the seahorses.
