acclimating guppies to sw

I was reading that you can acclimate guppies to saltwater. How is this done?

I have to ask, why would you want to?
You generally put them in a tank and gradually increase salinity over the weeks...
But, IMO, it is a :nope:

Most people won't reccommend this as it is believed they aren't great to feed your fish. (If this is why you want to do this.) However, set up a little 3-5 gallon aquarium. Fill with Freshwater and let it cycle (just like salt). After it has cycled add fish. Then remove half the water and drip in (like acclimation except one drop ever 3 second, not 8 drops every second) salt water you have pre mixxed to double the strength of your current salt tank. As you can see this takes a longtime.
When it is done you aquarium salt level should be the same as your current saltwater tank. You have just created your guppy feeding tank.

I don't want to feed them to other fish.........actually I was just asking out of curiousity....and thinking maybe add a few to the tank for color, the fancy ones. Just a thought, but go ahead. shoot me down....

I just never like this idea. :nope: Just not a natural part of a saltwater tank.
Besides, you will get quite a few babies - possibly (though if in with the puffer I don't think you would even keep the guppies but it might be for your smaller tank). And you would be wondering how to get rid of them...if you wanted to trade to an LFS you would probably have to then reverse acclimate.
