I am having trouble introducing new fish to my FOWLR 125. Some one suggested to me i may not be acclimating my fish properly. Would death from improper acclimation happin fast? My fish seem to be prefect for a couple days.
Thanks

how are you acclimating them? I reccomend the drip method described in detail on this site...what are your water parameters?

I also use the drip method but only for 30 to 40 minutes. My water checks out good no2. 0, no3. 10, nh3. 0, ph 8.4, sal.1.023. I switched to r/o water by had been using real hard well water. Have not tested for ca, or alk. Temps run at 80.

I usually drip acclimate for at least 1 1/2 hours...more for a fragile fish. What other fish do you have? How long has it been running? What kind of fish are you adding?

Tank has been up for 9 months. Currently in the tank are aflame hawk, yellowtailed damsel, two clowns, eng. gobie and c.c. starfish. Have tryed to introduce a emp. angel, blue face angel, and cuban hogfish all one at a time. None made it past the thrid day. all eating and health to that point.

I drip delicate fish and inverts, otherwise I just use the add a cup of water to the bag method. I've never lost a fish.

Your bioload is probably a problem.
Try introducing one fish every week to ten days and you should have better luck if you are drip acclimating and no longer using well water.
