Acclimation

I am going to be acclimating my mollies to salt....I was thinking of doing it gradually, but then I was wondering if a 2 hour drip acclimation would work too. :thinking:
The main reason I am considering this is that the males have gone from casual courting to point of well..... :scared:

FW....it will depend on how things go.....I'd like to get to1.018....but if they start showing signs of stress I will halt the process and wait 15 minutes, check the S, if I have too...stop at that level and put them into the 10 gallon at the same S and start again tomorrow. :thinking:

I hear ya....and that would be the preferable thing, however, because of the stress level in the FW tank I have decided to step up the process. ***)

You can't step up the process because they will not make it.
Just like doing hypo IMO, it has to be done over weeks time not 3 hrs

you may be pushing it like they said..i mean if we think about it already existing saltwater fish need sometimes 3+ hrs to acclimate..i would think non saltwater would need even more

If you fast track them, I'm afraid you will lose them.
Why are you worried about the mating activities?

The males have become overly aggressive.
I have 2 females acclimating.
START time 8:20 am
1 Hour test 9:37 am
Salinity = 1.010
No signs of stress
I understand your concern...and it is well noted

If I sense any signs of rapid breathing I will stop the process. I have also added NovAqua stress relief.
I will contiue to update
