achilles and a kole?

I would say probably, but keep in mind that the Achilles is a very delicate tang, along the lines of a powder blue. Definitely keep it in a Q tank first. Very prone to Ick, IME. Needs a mature tank for sure. But definitely one of my favorite fish

I would add the kole first and wait awhile befor adding the achillies. The achillies is a territorial defender in the wild so if the kole is esablished first it may work. I have a kole in a 180g. w/ 4 other sps. of tangs but no Acanthuruses like the powders, ect. I just dont trust them as far as temperment and like ophiura said, durability. But you really never know and if its something YOU want to try and willing to except the worst if it happens then, go for it. They are both very nice fish. Plus the size of your tank is a plus for makeing it work.

i would agree with everything said here, also make sure the water has lots of current and there is a lot of oxygen in the water because the achilles comes from a very oxygenated part of the ocean with lots of current. that is one of the biggest things with achilles, that and diet and mature tank.

achilles tangs like higher specific gravity too. Try to get one that is from Hawaii...they tend to do a little better. You need to keep your water quality good and constant......plan on making 10% water changes per week to replace trace elements and remove nutrients.
A very difficult tang to keep successfully due to their enviornmental requirements. Make sure your tank is mature...at least one year old IMO.
