Nitrate levels have to be very elevated to have a direct impact on coral health, yours are not at a toxic concentration, although any nitrate can contribute to algae growth. Nirates can be due to a lack of biological filtation and/or poor nutrient output. Increasing your sand bed depth to allow bacteria capable of braking nitrates into free nitrogen and/or removing any bilogical filtration media such as bio balls from the system which when relied upon solely for biological filtration can lead to nitrate build up due to their lack of the bacteria mentioned above, and/or increasing nutrient export through water changes, protien skimming, macro algae growth, and/or activated carbon can help to eliminate testable nitrates.
