I just bought a new acro and placed it in my substrate, My tank is 22" deep and there is a 400 W 20,000 k metal halide above it is this a good placement for the acro

That is a good place to start it. You want to make sure it has a decent flow on it as well as good lighting as they require a good deal of both. You may want to move it up a bit but how soon depends on the lighting it has come from.

Thank You for the quick reply. It was directly (about 10" under a 250 w metal halide) today when I bought it. As for the current in my tank it is really good throughout but where the acros are placed is not the strongest but very good flow on them.

OK - ifthey were under 250's then it is probably best to start them lower and let them acclimate to the brighter lighting. They would do fine at the bottom of your tank since you have 400's but definitely give them some good flow.

I will redirect my power head towards them a little
.
Thanks nycbob, not sure where it's going to go yet I have to get another box of rock once my urchents clean up the hair algae. I have another stag but it's not as green as this one.
