Acropora and hermits

I was asking because I have had a red legged hermit sitiing on a new addition for about a day. I finally took him off and placed on the other side of the tank (figured it couldn't be too good for it) but it made me wonder if it was doing any damage either by its' weight or actually feeding on it. I can't seem to find anything on the subject in my books. Anyone have any personal observations / experience?
Thanks

Most Hermits present no problems to Acropora. From my experience, many of them will lay on the branches of my corals at night, and sometimes throughout the day. However, they never posed any threat to them.
