Acropora vs. Montipora

I have an Acropora cytherea (tabling acro) and a Montipora danae (superman monti). One of them has grown to the point that it is touching the other. I have moved them and see that one has beaten the other up so..........
Who do you think is the winner the acro or the monti??????

I would say acro. Every coral that ever touched my monti (digi) killed the digi.

Well looks like a runaway of opinion here and the majority is correct, the monti came out worse for the battle. It now has a spot a little smaller than a penny that has no polyps of the blue tissue. It is totally white in that area. I have moved things around a little so they have room between each other. I think the monti will re encrust that are though, if an algae doesn't get there first.
Thanks for all the voting folks, good stuff and proves that there are a lot of knowledgeable folks here.

So, I'd love to get a hold of some Acropora cytherea, any chance you're fragging?

Hey Monk, sorry not yet. But I will keep you in mind as I get to that point. You can see the colony I have here.

You can see in post #20 picture #3 #4 and #7 how far apart they were, pretty close actually.
They sure look nice.
Definitely keep me in mind.

Yeah, they do seem pretty far apart, but I know montis sure grow quickly in my tank. Your tank looks great, too, btw. Nice job!

BTW, the top down shot of the acro is awesome! I really like the neon goby in there too....heh.

Unfortunately for your superman, montiporas are almost always going to get beat out by whatever they come in contact with...
