This type question is posted on a regular basis.....sure it can be done...but its probably not a good idea.....a search for information on-line will indicate that the majority of SPS type corals require intense lighting...high levels of circulation and stable water chemistry....any thing less will not be adaquate long term.
It seems to me that based on the information available SPS under less than MH's and a knowledge of the required water chemistry is just not very practical.
The basic information on keeping SPS corals is out there....and developing the knowledge and proper conditions should come first....then attempts can be made to keep them.
I managed to keep a few carefully selected SPS types in a 55 with 4x65 PC's and 2x110 VHO's...but only after researching their needs and taking steps to increase my odds of success.....and at the time I had intentions of futher developing a system to properly maintain them. The few I started with did ok....not great....but since altering my system and increasing the lighting/circulation things have improved...as have my selections.
SPS types can be maintained in less than ideal conditions.....but there are steps that can be followed that will increase the chances of success.......
