I bought an acropora and it turned white within a few days. then it turned greenish tan(it was supposed to be purple). Now it is covered with hair algae, even though I do not have this algae anywhere else. How can I tell if this coral is dead?. Can I dip it in something to remove algae?. It has been very close to light and it has lots of flow. thanks for help:help: :help:

Definitely need all the info on your system that you can provide. SPS types...acroporas...can often appear bleached(white) and then recover but its not a positive thing that they'll recover. Plus the accumulation of algae is a major concern. Depending on the conditions you have provided things may not look good for your coral.
