acrylic question

Hello all! Glad I found this board. I am fixing to build my own aquarium, and I was wondering if acrylic is the same thing as plexiglass.
Any info would be helpful.

If I recall correctly, Plexiglass is a brand or trade name of acrylic. So Plexiglass=Acrylic, but Acrylic does not necessarily = Plexiglass, Fester
