acrylic reef tank

Can you do reef with acrylic? I have heard that a particular type of algae is impossible to scrape off whereas with glass you just use a razor blade.

If you dont mind having little-big coraline dots on your tank go for it. I have a 10 gallon acrylic and like it beter then my 55 glass. glass gives a greenish tint and distotres the water when you put you hand in. Acrylic does none of this but I have tried once to scrape the algae of in my 10 and have 4 nice sizes scratches and I WISH I never did that.
