Acrylic Sump Help/Baffle Removal

I have an acrylic sea reef wet/dry. It's empty of everything. There is a baffle in the center of the tank top to 1-2 inches off the bottom. I DO NOT WANT IT THERE, came made this way. I want the baffle out and either relocate it or toss it. Is this possible? How would you take apart acrylic? Well without destroying the rest of it anyway?

Generally acrylic is "welded" together using a glue-like solvent. Depending on the "weld" job, you may or may not be able to separate the baffle, but its not likely, and chances are good it may break the sump. Personally, I would either leave it alone or use a dremmel to cut it out.

I agree.. cut the majority of it out however you can...try to cut it close to the edges. Then use an angle grinder/sander with a rough grit to finish off the remainder until its flush.

Thanks, ended up just going with this though. It took a little modification of the stand, but ended up fitting fine. It was just 2 inches higher.
