Well, the legal meaning of "lifetime" varies. In Oregon a lifetime warranty like this is enforceable for, I think, seven years. In any event, I'll be delighted if I get 20 years of good service out of my tank. :happy:
I bought acrylic primarily because they're so CLEAR. No green tint,just perfectly clear and colorless. It's just like the water is suspended in mid-air - because the refractive index of the acrylic is so close to water. Sometimes, when the little fish are up against the front, it looks like they're swiming in the air! I love it.
The insulation,light weight, and unbreakability are added benefits. I was willing to be careful, so I saw no reason to get the glass tank. (My last acrylic had no scratches in over five years, but we didn't have kids around either...)
By the way, I have a Truvu 150 gallon acrylic, and the corners are not rounded, unfortunately.
I think it's a chocolate versus vanilla thing.
