acrylic vs plexi...

Acrylic and plexi-glass are the same thing right? i need to fab a reservoir for my top off. the only room i have is 4 x 36", that is the foot print, behind the tank. if they are the same i have already called around and found a place that will custom cut the plexi. for the glue i should use weld on #5? where can i find this? any hardware store?

plexi-glass is just a name brand of acryllic

You'd be hard pressed to find a hardware store that carries Weld-On.
You'll want to try Tap Plastics or US Plastics. Tap sells Weld-on brand, US Plastics has a house brand that is cheaper. Any methyl chloride based product will work.

We have a custom plastics shop in town that lets me stop buy and buy weld on from them or whatever they have in bulk jugs they use. Try that route as well instead of paying a hazardous shipping fee.

Hmmm. well considering i live next to formosa plastics plant it might not be too hard to find. thanks guys. i'll post a pic when i get it finished.
