Are you apposed to adding another powerhead in the tank? If not take a look at the Eheim 1212 Aquaball power head. It has a venturi on it. Instead of running the aqua lifter you can run a power head in the tank and just hook the air tube from the cpr overflow to the venturi on the power head.

Okay guys...I already have a power head in the tank rigged up with Debbie made spray bars of PVC pipe....Do you mean I just add a air hose to that little nipple on the top?...I always wondered what that little thing was for, it even had an air hose on it, they all do....what was that for anyway, do you know?
Oh and does the size of the pump matter...this is a big one. If you want details I don't know them, the pump was used for churning water for water changes and I wasn't paying much attention. So it's been so long I have no idea.

Yeah that is the venturi, they are there so you can connect an air tube on them and it will blow water and air at the same time. I use the same thing in my water mixing containers to oxygenate the water really well when it's mixing. The force of the water coming out of the powerhead creaes a suction in the air tube which would draw any air out of the overflow the same way a aqua lifter would. Durring normal operation you really won't get any air bubbles blowing around in the tank, maybe one or two every once in a while but nothing to worry about.

So to switch it to that pump just do it and watch to make sure all is working right??? LOL...I'm so afraid of doing anything new. I love the system you guys designed for me, I don't want to putz with perfection but I had a very hard time this last clog up to get it running again. Maybe being off for 4 days during our power outage affected it, and made it more clogged than usual.

Yeah just take the aqua lifter out. Get a longer piece of hose and connect it from the cpr to the powerhead in the tank and see how it goes. You'll probably want to have that pump on the same power supply as the return pump though just like you did with the aqua lifter.
