Add a Powder Blue to a resident Tang

I have a yellow tang in a 200 gal. I have 180lbs of LR. So far only a Domino and a Lawn Mower in there right now. If you remember - this POS that watched my tank for 2 weeks over the newyear killed every GD living thing in it. Sorry for the rant
I am thinking about a Powder Blue tang. The YT has been in for 2 weeks. If I get a PB should I add him now or does it matter in terms of how long I wait? The tank has been back to normal for about 3 months and is doing great.
what I had that the POS killed:
3 blue damsels
2 percs
2 three striped damsels
1 Domino
1 royal gramma
1 lawn mower
1 yellow tang
2 shrimp and my corals

It should be ok to add one to a 200. Make sure you quarantine the powder for at least two weeks. In the mean time make sure the yellow has no signs of ich.

Ah, another thing I've been reading a lot about lately. Yes some of my knowledge comes from books and magazines, I know this bugs some people, but I have found it quite helpful. Anyway I will pass on my knowledge. As far as a powder blue and a yellow tang this should be ok. Tangs are mostly agressive to fish of the same size, color and/or shape. Now yellow tangs are naturally agressive so try acclimating the PB with the lights off and/or rearranging the rock a little to throw of his territory a little. It's also a 200 gal. and that's a lot of room which makes it easier for them to get along. The same goes for the hippo tang. Although they aren't as agressive as tangs from the zebrasoma species, you still may want to acclimate it with the lights off. The main thing for both fish is that there are plenty of places to hide in the tank.
Also Definitely Quarantine them, Tangs are very succeptible to disease, and you don't want to hurt your other fish.
Hope this helps.

I have a yellow tang that was established in my tank for approx. 2 months when I added my p.b.tang. I was worried about the addition due to the fact that my y.t. had caused problems in the past with new additions. Fortunately, the p.b. is equally, if not more so, strong willed than the y.t. After two days of posturing all was well. 1 month after the fact, the two of them will feed on sea weed side by side.

In my experience hippo tangs are like the niger trigger of the tang world... very docile. Yellow tangs can be little @#@$^s. Anyway I think you both should be fine, but here is a good tactic in case you run into problems. Keeping the lights real low or off always is a good idea. If you ever run into a problem, you can seperate the fish putting one into a breeder trap commonly used for livebearers in the freshwater hobby. This will allow the two to see eachother while not being able to fight. After a day or a few days they should get along. Be careful not to stress them that much, especially the PB. Tangs are friggin magnets for parasites. Hope that helps.
