I have a reef tank that has been up for about a year. It has 50 pounds of live rock if i wanted to redue my rocks and add 50 more pounds of base rock would i have to cure this base rock if i bought it online?
base rock generally comes dead and cleaned, so you shouldnt have to clean it other than a rinsing to wash off any dust that collected on it while it was stored.
Just to be on the safe side I would make up some 5g buckets of fresh SW and soak the base rock for a few days before adding to an established system. Jim
