I've set up my first SW tank and have had one occelaris clownfish in it for about three weeks now. I bought another occelaris clownfish from this site and added it to my tank on Friday. I was somewhat concerned that the new fish was a tad bigger than the first fish, but they've been getting along very well.
On to my question, when I added the second fish, the first fish watched it for a minute or so and then went right over to it and started doing what I think is the mating 'dance' thing where they vibrate their bodies violently. He did this over and over again when the new fish would look his way. I thought it was odd that he would be doing this so early. Is this truly the mating dance thing I've seen posted, or was it more of a territorial type thing? I have noticed that the new fish did the mating dance thing as well once or twice while I was watching on separate occasions. Perhaps this is not what I think it is, but the important thing is that they get along really well.
