add sand...

How can i add new sand to an established tank? I just want to fill it up more, over time in settled a lot.
Anyone have any suggestions so i wont cause a crazy cloud in the tank...

You are going to have a sandstorm... no way to avoid it.
The easiest way I found is to use a large pvc pipe. Stick it all the way to the bottom of the tank and pour the sand into it.
Be careful not to do it too deeply. You don't want to bury and kill your beneficial criters and bacteria. Also be sure to research sand bed depths.

get a cup of the new sand, and fill that up with your tank water, from there, just put it at the bottom of your tank and kind of shimmy it out at the sandbed. It keeps it from getting to cloudy, and whatever does cloud up just gets cleared in about 30 minutes. Works everytime.
