addding water and salt mixture

When adding new water and salt mixture to the tank, is there a current amount of time you should allow the water to sit before adding to the tank????

I like to wait 24 hours to make sure it desolves

What is the most water that I should change a month. I have had one person tell me not more than 25% a month. Which could be broken down for my 40, 10 gal. once a month or 5 gal. bi-weekly.

I do 10% a week

actually.. it is a minimal of 40% of the water volum per month.. you can do 10% every week.. or 20% or whatever, as long as it end up with a minimum of 40% per month.. but.. i would never change more then 70% of the water in one month.. ( imo you lose too much bacteria and also, it is too much of a fluctuation to be healthy for the tank's inhabitants.)
