If you bought them online they may be like that for a few days. Try keeping your light off for a few hours.

it took some of my sails a couple of hours some a day or two to move. normaly i hold them to the glass were i have some algea and they pop right out and stick to the glass. If they are dead give your nose a treat and sniff, sniff, sniff if you get the urge to toss your diner then yeah they are dead.

You Did Place Them On Their Feet, Excuse Me, Foot Didnt You? They Will Die If Fall On Their Backs-cant Get Up!!
Place Them On The Rocks Around Your Tank In Sight And Wait. By Morning, they Should Have Moved.

you'll know when they are dead, they kinda hang out the shell, and smell, always acclimate anything that goes into your tank,

yea i just flipped them all over small lil air bubbles popped out maybe thats why.. but there still in there shells.... look like snails still... i put them facing the front glass so i can look inside of them..... and they dont look nasty dead.. but i didnt smell one yet.. its almost been 24 hours.. u think they would even stink yet?

i would think so. it don't seem like it takes long for a snail to start breaking down and stinking to high heaven

if these are dead im not getting the 100 astrea snails i was planning on getting tomarrow. Something in my water is killing shrimp and snails on instant when they touch my water.......
and i dont think its copper cause i have hermit crabs and 10 tiny black nassarus snails roaming around.....

yea but the glass i can do that...... somewhat.... but rocks u cant... LOL
and the aglea it is is the stuff u rub off and it can peeel off in big pieces and floats around.. so me cleaning a ---- load... will make my tank disgusting.. llol but i should just stick to like 200 hermit crabs and screw snails and just use myhand

If they do not really stink, just wait a couple of days and it will be fine. This is not abnormal for snails from my experience (as little as it may be) and from what I have heard from others. I added about 30 snails to my tank at one time, some started moving around right away, some took 2-3 days before they moved, but they are all up and about now and doing fine, really lively up the tank.
PS...In the future I would DEFINITELY acclimate anything you add to your tank.

if they smell like rotten eggs if you try taking them out than they are def dead i had that happen to me with the larger turbo/mex snails, thats why i get the smaller ones...sometimes you just get unhealthy snails, but it could also mean your water parameters are no right for their liking, when inverts die it means something isnt right ....
