Adding a hippo tang

I currently have a 100g fish only tank w/o any live rock. I would like to add a hippo tank. In the tank so far I have a purple tang, a naso tang, and 3 small damsels. All chemical levels are fine and the tank has been up for 9 months. So far all of the fish get along well especially the 2 tangs. There are plenty of coral forms for hidding places. Will a hippo tang be a good addition considering it looks completely different then the other tangs?

You will get a lot of varied opinions on this. But I have successfully had those three tangs in my tanks for a period of three years. The hippo will hide alot and lie on his side. I strongly suggest not getting anymore tangs after that. They will get bigger and need room. feed them plenty of greens. I but sea grapes from the local store and soak food in a garlic based solution. Hippos are partial to ich and this has prevented it for me....

Depends on how large your Purple Tang is and his demeanor. Naso's are usually pretty laid back for a tang, so I doubt he would be a problem.
Problem is Hippo's tend to stress out easily, and if that Purple decides to not play nice you will have problems.
You would be better off IMO with a Powder Blue Tang. Make sure he is out and eating readily at the lfs before you buy him because some just will not acclimate to captivity. Powder Blue's have an additude similar to a Purple and should be able to fend for itself just fine.
Which ever one you get I would make sure to turn off the light and rearrange the tank before going to get your new tang. When the lights come back on the new tang should be acclimated enough to fend off aggression if any comes.
