what is the rule to adding fish? ive heard someone say it depends in inches of the fish and gallons of the tank? can someone verify that and give a example thanks

honestly you should give it at least two weeks in my opinion between fish if not more. It just gives time for the natural filtration to catch up and level out .

sorry let me rephrase my question whats the rule on the amount of space a fish needs in a tank. like how do they determine that 5 fish can live in a 25 gallon? how is it that they calculate things like that?

it would be tough to fit 5 fish in a 25 gallon.
there isn't a rule that works very well in terms of inches/gallon in a tank. the best thing is to see what fish you want to keep and build your list around that. then only add a fish every few weeks.
