Adding Fuge to an established tank

Hello,
I'm adding a HOB fuge to my year old established tank. Would there be a problem adding sand to the fuge when I put it on? It wouldn't start another mini cycle would it?

No, all will be good.
The cycle process only happens when you don't already have a bacterial population established in the system. Adding a virgin fuge (new sand, etc) should cause no issues. Even the small amount of uncured live rock you could fit into an HOB fuge should not cause any disruption.
