Adding MH, but where???

I just bought a 250W MH fixture to go in my 55g tank.
I currently have a Nova Extreme T5 4x54W over it. I plan on keeping that. So the question is, where to add the MH.

I have a canopy that is about 10" high. I can mount the MH to the top of that (or lower it a little if needed). I was thinking of putting the single 250 in the middle of the front and sliding the T5 all the way to the back of the tank.
Is that a good place for it? Will the center brace be a problem?
Thanks in advance. John

if the center brace is in the middle, i would not mount the halide above it. you are better off returning the 250, and getting two 150s, one for either side.
i'd also rather have 2 x 54 in front of the halide(s) and 2 x 54 in the rear. i know this would mean you'd have to purchase more retrofit equipment though, so it may not be doable.

Will the 250 light damage the brace?
Thanks, J
