I just got all the equipment needed for my 240 gal tank which means after a few weeks of cycling I will be adding some of my current fish from my 120 and some new fish. What do you think of this list for my 240.
Purple Tang (already have)
Emperor Angel (already have)
Picasso Trigger (already have)
Blue Hippo Tang
Green Bird Wrasse and/or Sunset Wrasse
Miniatus Grouper
Blueface Angel
Dogface Puffer
Zebra Eel
It's kinda exciting, I love this hobby.

I would nix the Miniatus and Dogface for a few reasons. The first is to help slim down on the list overall, those two would be the 'biggest mouths' so to speak. And the second and third reasons, being opposite. The Miniatus for being a bit aggressive for that list, and the Dogface for being a little too passive.

Also, unless you're set on the zebra eel, personally I'd get a more outgoing eel, like a goldtail or snowflake. Zebras hardly ever come out, they are VERY reclusive.

You are not the first person to tell me that the zebra never comes out so I will start listening. However I am going to have a hard time giving up the idea of the Miniatus Grouper, but if I do get it he will be the last addition to the tank so I do have time to ponder it. The dogface I wasn't to excited about anyways, that was mostly for my girl, she thinks it's cute so I can easily cut that out of the list. I wish the tank was fully cycled, I got fellow hobbiest giving away a Passer Angel, I'm afraid I might lose the opportunity though per I'm still a few weeks out from adding to the tank.

First hand knowledge is always better than second hand. So I take it t amount of time the zebra spends out and about totally depends on the individual, possibly?

Could be each zebra is different. The one I had, I never saw except at feeding time.

I absolutely loved my zebra, except for the fact that people would look at me funny when I was showing him off by opening the stand and shining a flash light up through the bottom..."here, if you stick your head under here and look up you can see him..."...sigh.
I swear that I could get him to climb out of the tank and do a jig on the coffee table for live craw dad but if it wasn't feeding time he was worse than a cat....

crhawkeye, you do realize that at this point, pics and vids (more so) of the tank are now required?

But seriously, if you got some time, the tank would be nice to see.
