Adding sand

just wondering. i have a 75gal. fowlr with about a 1" sandbed well maybe a little less lets just say it started at 1" had a algae problem came home from work and my wifey says "look i got rid of that gross stuff for you" I said Uh OH how'd you do that "I scooped it out with the fishnet" DOH!
needless to say alot of my sand went with it ha ha bless her heart she meant well, sorry its kinda funny now anyway my question is can i add sand over the sand i have left tanks been running since nov. 04 or would it cause a problem again sorry it took so long to get to the point.

I don't think it would be a problem adding sand over an already established sandbed. It sounds as if you removed most of the top layer already anyhow. Just keep a close reading on your nitrite and nitrates. If anything spikes, you might want to do some larger than normal water changes.
