Adding Water

Could someone tell me if this is ok. I dont have an auto. top off system (yet) I top off with 5 Gal. Jugs of R/O water from the Glacier machine. The only thing I add to it before it goes in the sump is 8.2 Proper PH @ 76 Degrees. Am I missing something?????????????

On a 55g I just add well water with a pH of 7. The tank stays at 8.3.....It just keeps equailizing its self out. I only add 1-2 gal at a time, so I gess it makes no difference for me.
But this tank also hac CC for bottem, CC will help keep pH up.
So they say.........

I was told , dont add buffer to your water, top off or water change.
Your Ph should stabalize on its own.
