I am trying to adjust the calcium reactor on my new 210 that I have had set up about 2 weeks. The readings one week ago were pH 8.2, Ca: 360, Alk: 5.0. I increased the flow rate of the drip out of the reactor, and increased the bubble count of the CO2 coming in. after 4 days of this increased rate, the calcium is the same, as is the pH, but the ALK has increased to 6.0! What adjustments do I need to make on the reactor to get the calcium up, and to drop the Alkalinity slightly. If you need to know, the tank specs are below:
210 with 75-gallon sump, will be a reef set up
No lights (have full VHO setup, just not on yet)
4 in DSB and 45 lbs LR added today (4/3/02)
Skimmer in sump
Two Dolphin aqua sea 3000 pumps, one running skimmer, one as return.
