Advice on new skimmer?

I am in the market for a protein skimmer, my tank just cycled and now I need to get a skimmer. There are so many brands and sizes and just wanted some input on a decent one. I have a 95 gallon FOWLR and a wet/dry sump filter with room for a skimmer in the sump not a hang on skimmer. My LFS was trying to sell me one for about $250 but I have seen them alot cheaper than that on Craigslist and ----. I don't want to skimp on this but looking for somthing I can afford. Any suggestions on brands to look for and stay away from? Thanks

Skimmers are tricky business, especially when your limit is $250.
Good skimmers cost a lot more, but there are a few brands that offer an outstanding cost-to-dollar ratio.
I'd suggest an Octopus DNW-150 or NW-150 for your tank. The DNW is a recirculating skimmer which IMO performs better than a needle wheel (NW), but both perform well. I think the DNW falls in your 250 range. You won't be disappointed.
Stay far away from JEBO/Odyssea, Coralife, CurrentUSA.

i got a SWC skimmer and they work great.. you should be able to get something in your price range check er out..

The SWC160 is the exact same skimmer as the MSX160 and the Octopus Extreme160. I have the MSX160, and it does a great job. Must be a pretty good product with three different companies marketing it
