one of my lfs is having a deal right now for an all glass aquarium 72 gallon bow front (with overflow) with stand and normal top for 359, relative to most other places in so cal this is not a bad deal at all, i would end up either buying or making my own canopy/hood for it. do any of the more experienced "buyers" on this board think this is a fair deal? or should i look to go used? the 72 gallon bowfront was my second choice of tank, my first either being a 55l or 75l.
on a side note, i am knew to this site, i have had a freshwater tank with electric yellow cichlids for the past year, and am undertaking the process of a marine tank. i read the "simple guied to marine aquariums" the last 5 issues of tropical fish hobbyist, aquarium fish, and freshwater and marine fish and these boards for the last couple weeks to develop a better understanding of the complexities involved with cycling, lighting, filtration etc etc.
anyway, any advice on the tank purchase is greatly appreciated

the best deal I've seen in no. cal is the 72 gal bowfront (oceanic) with overflow, stand, canopy, and sump for $699.
i was told this was too expensive without plumbing/lights/etc.
i've seen some good deals in so.cal on e-bay.
hope this helps!

i would say thats a good deal since bowfronts are more expensive,...think about it this way ur paying 60 for the overflow 150 fo tank and 150 for stand,....IMO bowfront giv marine tanks a different perspective,...but in the other hand u can buy a normal 55 gal tank with filter (not so good) and stand from wal mart for around 150 last time i check,.... but ive been lookin to upgrade ma tank from 55 to 125+ ive been looking around on recycler.com and i hav found full set ups from the tank to its filteration includeing lighting (MH) for around 450+ so yea theres ma two cent! cant wait till i upgrade !!!!!!!!

cool, thanks
i dont think theres a walmart nearby here, we have a ton of targets in so cal though
i was in ohio last week and there was this place called Aquarium Adventure, it was defintately the best "lfs" ive ever been in, it was huge with the biggest selection of tanks, lighting, fish, etc etc.
either way ill check around, id love to find with return and overflow already drilled (possible smaller than that of the overflow in the 72)
