I think I found why my tank is struggling, I have been testing lfs has been testing, everyboby comes back with good #'s. fish all seem fine, the only thing someone noticed was the rodi holding tank has a brass valve on it, so yesterday took it off and replaced it with pvc. now I wait for the tank to fill so I can do a few large water changes.

any copper level will hurt corals and inverts.curious ? why do you ask?
no we never tested for copper, this is a stab in the dark all i had to do was change out to a pvc drain no big deal. now after a couple of water changes we will be able to tell.

Have you/the LFS used a copper test (Seachem, Sailfert, Elos)? And actually saw readings indicating there was copper in the tank?
That is why i changed the valve this way i can knock off one thing at a time, I am running a poly filter the fish store gave me, right now has been 24 hours. after I get some water made will do a change, also I have some old water left over am going to have both tested .will let you know whats up

I would test. I doubt a little valve would harm that much, although it's god to have changed it just in case.
