agae removers?

CAREFULL!!!
I had some bothersome hair algae about 2 months ago. I used a product called marine S.A.T. and the hair algae was gone overnight. HOWEVER. I have know been struggling for 2 months to containt the bacteria bloom and algae bloom that followed 2 days after getting rid of my hair algae. LET me tell you.. I would love to be scraping hair algae again. I havent seen the back of my tank in 2 months. The best way that I have found. (upon resuling investigation) is to use algae critters (tang's, hermit, astrea's) lots of 'em. AND to setup a refugium. which competes for the bacteria and wins. causing the hair algae to have nothing to do but die. ANY other suggestions?
