Snowflakes, as well as Foxface grow too large for a 55gal tank.
As already stated, check into Dwarf Lion species and you can also check out Waspfish, Leaf Fish, and Scorpionfish.

Im going to agree with you about the fox face because i really dont know anything about them, but the SFE i kno can be kept in a 55 gallon.
Ive thoroughly researched snowflakes because theyre my favorite saltwater fish.
Thats just my opinion, but i completely respect yours

Have you ever seen an adult Snowflake?...36" long and thick as a baseball?
36" fish in a 48" long tank just doesnt work for me.

I dont have pics, as they werent my specimens, but I've seen numerous (5 or more) Snowflakes that were that size.
Even the ones that's arent that thick, shouldnt be kept in a 55gal. Even yours, as 30" (congrats, by the way, cause there's not alot of people that can keep them to that size), wouldnt sit right with me, in a 48" long tank.

When I lived in Chicago, I was great friends with the owners of Chicago Aquarium, a LFS (they've just recently closed their doors for good).
I did them a favor and did a tank maintenance apt. for them. The client lived on Michigan Ave. and had a 400gal. in wall setup...just fish that he liked.
He had two Snowflakes that were that size...I couldnt believe it when I first saw them.
One other was at Aquatic World, on N. Lincoln, in Chicago, they had one in their window display tank. He was that thick and maybe 30", with a serious wound, on his tail. The owner told me that he 6" - 8" LONGER and a large piece of live rock fell and crushed his tail completely off.

I would have to agree with AW2. My snowflake is a little over a foot now and is about as fat as a permenent marker maybe a little less, I have no doubt they can get that fat if fed regularly

OK even if it does get that big im sure ill have upgraded by then and even if I wasnt going to upgrade im sure the SFE would be happy in the 55 gallon. So can we please stop worrying about that and tell me if my current stock list is ok?
thanks

Ok...so, you've had more than one person tell you it wont work and yet you're going to do it anyway? Not only that, but you dont care that you're putting an animal in a habitat that could potentially be unsuitable?
Sorry...but with that mentality, you're not going find too many people, on this board, that will be willing to help you....and I'm one of them.

No im not trying to get on your bad side but if u dont want to help me then so be it.If you dont believe me then look around google it if you want and it will tell you that a SFE minimum tank size is 30 gallons.Im putting it in a 55 gallon and it will be fine there and even if it isnt (which IMO it is)im upgrading within the year and if its suffering in the 55 i will move it.Now im not the one to buy a fish with hopes of upgrading but if i have to i will. You can even look around on this forum and it will be more people saying yes than saying its not ok to keep a SFE in a 55,thats my only debate to what youve said but like i said before if you dont want to help me then feel free not to

if your not going to take anyone's advice then just do whatever you want and stop asking. No one is obviously going to stop you from doing things that are wrong with that mentality that you will do it anyway. Get off AW2 if you don't want help there's 1000 other forums that people will tell you the same thing or maybe Evan agree with you..remember "Google" is always right,, people that have experience and actually keep these animals have NO CLUE what their talking about :hilarious

I never say they didint know what they were talking about
Even you said that a SFE can go in a 55 gallon
ive been reading the forums for a long time but ive just now registered i kno AW is very smart and knowledgable about fish
i just personally think a SFE can go in a 55 gallon
and its not that ive just googled it ive also read many books
"A PocketEXpert Guide to Marine Fish'' By Scott W. Micheal
''Tropical Fish Handbook""
theres a few others ill try and find
Ive also asked about snowflakes in a 55 before on many different forums and got a yes

It's not a question about you asking and getting a yes or no answer.
You were going to do it even before you asked, no matter what anyone said, so why ask? You had no intentions of upgrading until you started hearing "it wont work". Then, you basically just told us all that we wanted to hear...not what you were really going to do.
My point is...if you continually ask questions and then dont take the advice of people, when they know 100% they are right, then you're not going to have too many people that will be interested in helping you.
You putting a Snowflake in a 30gal - 50gal tank is no different than someone putting a shark/ray in a 90gal - 100gal tank. It's not a question of it being ok...it's morally wrong, IMO.
