what fish would do well with an aggressive occelaris clown? The clown has killed a firefish and beat up a diadema basselet. Right now the clown is alone in my 20 gallon.
thanks

You can also try rearranging your rockwork to remove the clown's comfort zone. (Do this while you are acclimating the new guy.) Be sure there are places for both fish to hide for a while. Leave the lights off when you add the new one in, overnight is fine. When they come back out, the clown will feel new, also. No guarantee, but it has helped me in the past.
Otherwise, you may have to wait until you can upgrade. A 20 doesn't give a lot of room. The clown can protect his sleeping spot and still "police" the entire 20 gal. He can't do that in a 55 (for instance) without leaving his sleeping spot unguarded.

I have a clarkii clown who beats up any fish smaller then him, but leaves any fish bigger then him alone.
Get a bigger clown fish of the same species as yours and you should be fine.

Funny, today I was going to ask the same question, about agressive clowns. I got a clarkii clown last thursday but he started chasing the firefish and green chromis. I thought they were not supposed to be aggresive???? This morning the chromis was dead... IF the clarkii isn't supposed to be aggresive why is he acting like this???
