This is my first time having a goby. I've had it for about a month now. Its about a 4inch Hasslet Goby...if i spelled it right. Neway he's in a 125g. with a 7inch Saddle Wrasse, new 5inch blond Naso Tang and a new 4inch baby porcupine puffer. Today i noticed the puffer face to face with the goby then next thing i knew the little goby lashed out and bit at the puffers face...it was too funny, although the puffer didnt seem too bothered by it.
After the fact i remembered back that at times when the wrasse would get too close during feeding time the goby would lash out at him too..at the time i thought maybe the goby was going after food and the wrasse happened to be in the way, but now i know better..lol, the goby definitely does it on purpose. The funny thing is it doesn't even seem to be a territorial thing. It just seems like any fish that gets too close within the goby's personal space he gets mad and lashes out. Is this normal goby behavior??? My fish are obviously not threatened because outside of the two small damsels the goby is the smallest in the tank...The goby seems fearless..he even fights for food with the wrasse, who is 5x the size of the little goby!
