Ok, so my last post, as you know i had to start a tank in a week because i slacked
Well in the tank as u know is a Snowflake Eel.
The ammonia i believe spiked yesterday and is coming down today. its at about 8ppm. I'm wondering if i should just let the cycle go on. or if i should do a massive water change to keep the eel alive..... Or should i drain 5 gallons out of my reef tank and put the eel in it for a couple hours to keep him from dieing.

i drained a few gallons out of my reef tank, and caught the eel and put it in a bucket for a few hours. I really don't want him to die.

Can you take the eel back to the fish store? Draining that water from your tank and putting the eel in it isn't going to help, as it's still the same water with a high ammonia level. The tank needs to cycle.
