I know this is a sort of dumb question but is it possible to have some sort of a reef set up (coral) along with a volitan lion,tangs,angels, and a snowflake eel??

eels love to knock around loose LR and topple LR structures, not the best thing in the world when you're trying to keep corals.
and there's the obvious waste product from eels and lions that will be pretty harmful to your tank's levels and water quality, which also is a death-wish to sensitive corals.

I have a few low light easy to keep corals in my Aggressive tank with a Lion, Puffer, Tusk, Tangs, Grouper...
Most of them are just "overgrowth" from my reef but they are doing well and growing/multiplying...
Some corals like softies, can stand water that is not "pristine"
GSP, Zo's, Nepthea (tree coral), toadstool are all in my tank and doing fine..
I'm sure there are others, mushrooms would probably be OK
Just be careful how/where you place them, and you may want to run some additional actinics (which I do as a dusk/dawn light before the main lights come on)

I've kept a few things in my aggressive tanks that I've tossed out of my reef, but when Lionfish18 said reef set-up I presumed he would like a typical reef with aggressive fish. Lion, what exactly are you looking for in this reef?
I figured it he wants a full-blown reef then some of the more sensitive corals wouldn't do well with the aggressives, unless there is an excellent filtration system. But it all depends on what he wants, I was thinking normal reef only with aggs

Well i was just thinking of some cool softies. I already own the snowflake eel and the volitan lionfish i need to upgrade to a 75g or greater and i wanted more than just aggressive fish. So the volitin and the eel would be the only aggressive fish in the tank.

Some corals do really well in "dirty" tanks. Zooanthids are an exemplary member of that group. I have two lions in my reef and they multiply like crazy. I also have a flower pot coral, which I didnt know before buying it, but have heard its a really difficult coral to keep. I have had it for going on 8 months now and it has doubled in size under a 55w PC about halfway up in the tank. Appearently it likes dirty water too. That might all change since I just got a skimmer rated for more than double my tank size, guess we will see. Most of the polyp types of soft corals should do ok in dirty water. That includes yellow polyps, star polyps, mushrooms and xenia.
