Aiptasia ... how could it be?

I think I have an aiptasia growing on a piece of live rock that has been in my tank for about 4 months now. Also, I haven't added anything new to my tank for about a month. Does anyone have any ideas where this thing came from??
I'll try to get a pic so that I can get another opinion of what it is.
Thanks.

Aiptasia and other hitchhikers can begin to grow several months after adding something to your tank. I have a couple of new hitchhikers in tank and I haven't added any live rock in a couple years and no coral for a few months.
Be sure you kill it ASAP or you will definetly have more.

I have had the best luck with kalkwasser paste (Joe's Juice), I have killed off several thousand aiptasia using this method. Which ever method you use be sure to monitor your PH and be cautious of the amount you use on one applications until you know what effect it will have on your PH.

Will a sixline really go after a pepp shrimp? ... will it go after other shrimp too?
I wanted a sixline but I guess I'll cross that off my list ... I like my peppermint shrimp...alive!
Ohh and a quick update... the aipasia seems gone, the lemon juice worked really well. That'll show any other aiptasia that wants to grow in my tank !

No the sixline will get rid of the aipasia not the peppermint shrimp.

I did not know about the six line, I have a tiny problem with aiptasia and was considering pep shrimp, I do have some chemical remover for them, but being new to this yet, I am really hesitant about using it, I just don't want to kill everything in there and am looking for a way to do it naturally.

I use aiptasia-x because its what my fish store sells and uses. I have never tried lemon juice because you cant vacuum the lemon juice out after treatment like you can with Joe's juice or aiptasia-x. I also will not try the boiling water treatment because as soon as I stick something in my tank my fish go right after it. I'm sure poached fish make crappy pets!
