Aiptasia ... how could it be?

Should have posted this here instead of the inverts forum...opps.
I'm pretty sure I have an aiptasia growing on a piece of live rock that has been in my tank for about 4 months now. Also, I haven't added anything new to my tank for about a month. Does anyone have any ideas where this thing came from??
I'll try to get a pic so that I can get another opinion of what it is.

It could have easily been hiding out in your rocks for that long without being noticed, especially if it's small. Pic would definately be helpful though.

I have heard people use peppermint shrimp to help control them and there is a product called joes juice that gets rid of them. Hope it helps...
