Hey all you young and old hobbyists. I have a something growing on my live rock (This is my first something since I set up my tank) and I am trying to identify it. If it is this dreaded aiptasia stuff I want to nip it in the bud before it becomes a problem. Does anyone have a pic of what this stuff looks like? Are there any legitimate live things that look like it that could cause confusion? Thanks!

I dont have any pics of Aptasia but I can describe them. They are brown and look like an anenome. I know a Copper Banded Butterfly Fish love to snack on them. Also if you have an epidermic needle fill it with scaldind hot water and inject them at the base. But dont do it in your tank or, as I just learned millions of babies will shoot out of them~! Just pull your rock out of the water and hang it upside down so the Aptasia will stretch out and then inject the hot water at their base and they'll fall right off. Hope this helps~!
