I would try live predators first, like mie said, copperband or peppermint shrimp. They are hit/miss though on whether or not they'll eat aptasia. My copperband at every bit of apatasia that I had. Peppermints are known to eat them also, but mainly only small aptasias. If these don't work, then I would try other means.

Not sure about the others, but my cleaners are quite large and ate the peps. But the ones that SWF sells are very small. They might be fine if you could find some adult ones. Not sure tho.

Yes the copperband is peaceful. I had one and it ate all my aiptasia and my feather dusters
, it wont bother the shrimp. The biggest prob is finding one that will eat frozen foods when the natural stuff is gone. if you buy one at thelfs watch it eat before you buy it. mine starved to death it would'nt even eat fresh clam in the shell. and all my aiptaisia came back. so now i am trying pep shrimp. just hope the trigger or cb shrimp dont eat him.

I use a syringe with white vinegar. It works quite well for me and if used in moderation, say 3 or 4 cc, has no effect on my ph. I got my syringe from a local heroin needle exchange program. I told them I needed a new needle for controlling a pest in my coral reef and they laughed with a "yeah....right" - Go Philly.

I have the same problem. I was told Pep. shrimp but I heard thy can take a while to get after it. Also heard that a Berghia Nudibranch will do it. I will be making a trip to me LFS to see what they have. Both are reef safe

I am going with a "nudi" or 2, every time I try killing these little nasties, they seem to come back almost ten fold. I have tried everything except for the fish and the Nudibranch. One of my fish eats the Peps almost as soon as I put them in, so that is out for now. Good luck

I hope you don't have a brittle star. I just got a lettuce nudibranch actually with my last SWF order. The nudi looked cool - slowing moving around the tank. And then, as I was watching it move by a hole in the rockwork, two green arms reached out and pulled it in. My star liked the snack
Oh well, they were on sale anyway for 1.99.

if you searched for aiptasia threads you would see every single one has the name JOES JUICE in it..

Nope no stars in my tank, pretty sure the little guys will be safe, trouble is finding them, LFS doesn't carry them, I did find a place online, have to give them a shot soon.
I know every thread says the "Juice" works, but I will say it is 50% hit or miss with it. Every time I use it on them, it almost acts like a catalyst for them to start breeding, within a couple of days there are more than before, it is not in just one spot either. I've tried lemon juice, vinegar, boiling water, pepper sauce, like I said before just about everything so far. I guess it does work for some, but definitely not me.
