Aiptasia

I use a chemical called Aiptasia-x made by Red Sea. It works well for me. Peppermint shrimp also eats Aiptasia but I don't like the idea of using live animals to fix problems.

Hi,
Joe's Juice or Aptasia X, squirt it right into the little disk without touching it...and watch it melt and die. The problem is that more show up and in places you can't reach to use the stuff...and that is where the peppermint shrimp come in. A critter as cool as peppermints are, and my tank is 100% aptasia clear. The tiny refugium I have where the peps can't go is loaded with them, so I know the spores breed more in the main tank. That's how fantastic the critters work and they are always part of my CUC (clean up crew).
Using critters to control a problem in the SW tank is the way we handle all things and keep our tanks beautiful, that's why we have snails, serpent stars and bristle worms. God has created a balance in the ocean that we can duplicate to an extent, and keeping the critters in our tanks that do their natural job just makes sense.
Fishhead: A natural method far out-ways any chemical fix, I think you are the first person to say they don't believe in purchasing critters to fix problems and prefers a chemical fix.
