Just got a new wet/dry and it seemed like it was adding to much air to the tank. well this morning my 2 1/2 year old clown trigger was dead. anyone know why the filter might be adding the air and how to stop it.

Is the air coming from the filter or the return when water hits the surface? From the filter you may need to add some foam to keep bubbles from entering the tank, if the return line submerge the discharge just below the surface. Maybe that will help.

in the sump portion of the wet dry is there enough water to cover the return pump? the return pump might be sucking in air and blowing it thru the tank, check the water level in the wet dry you might have to add.
