Air stones??

I have heard that air stones are not needed in a salt water tank. I was told that with the amount of movement in the water from Filter and calcium cleaners will put enough oxygen into the system. just wondering what the consensus on this matter is. Thanks for any advise you have for a newbie.

Welcome to the boards!
Air stones don't add oxygen to the tank. They bubble up to the surface and agitate the top of your water, thus allowing oxygen exchange.
A SW tank should have enough powerheads and flow to keep the surface well mixed without air stones. In addition, air stones are suspected of injuring fish, and bubbles can kill things like sponges.

I am gathering that i do not need the air stone at all because it could harm my fish and other living organsims in the tank.
right now i have a fluval 305 filter and a calcium skimmer, on a 30 gallon tank. it seems to me that the two of those give a good amount of movement both in the middle of the water and on the surface. should i get another ph or just go with what i got.
