Air ?

Is it necessary to run my airrator at all times while cycling my new tank? I have LS , do the critters need constant air to reproduce or become active..

i don't even use an airater, alll i use is powerheads, and aim one at the surface, for different current and it breaking the surface, will oxygenate the water

I don't have any ... I have a DSB so I am not running powerheads...

yep, you need the circulation, more than the filtration, IMO, get powerheads

Wow... I really fee like a Damsil now... Where would I hook them up to if I don't have an under gravel system..

i just get mine with the suction cup hangers, hang it on the glass,a nd put a filter screen(or what ever it is called, no filter, just aplastic grate) over the intake, to prevent any mishaps, and don't worry, about feeling like a damsel, we were all there, and you wontl learn without asking, and or trying

Thanks everyone... Just didn't know to run them free without hooking them to anything... So air isn't need if you run them ?
