Alage Question

My tank is 8 months old...recently this bugundy colored alage started growing on my sand bed and up the back of the tank glass. What kind is it? Is it normal and is there something live that will eat it? When I do my routine water change, I move the sand bed around and all of this burgundy alage starts floating around.

Do a search for cyanobacteria, there's good info about it and how to get rid of it.
